According to its data, exports of goods from the Russian Federation last year decreased by 28.3% year-on-year, to $425.1 billion. Imports of goods increased by 11.7%, to $285.1 billion. The volume of foreign trade of the Russian Federation decreased by 16.2%, up to $710.2 billion.

Exports from the Russian Federation to Europe during the reporting period fell by 68%, to $84.9 billion, to Asia – increased by 5.6%, to $306.6 billion. Imports to the Russian Federation from Europe decreased by 12.3%, to $78. 5 billion, from Asia – increased by 29.2%, to $187.5 billion.

The Central Bank reported that the current account surplus of the balance of payments in December 2023 fell to almost zero. Against this background, the level of foreign trade returned to the numerical indicators of 2019 and reoriented mainly to China.
