The total income of Russian freelancers grew by 53% in the first half of the year

For the first half of 2023, Russian freelancers earned a total of 5.3 billion rubles, Solar Staff, a representative of services for outsourcing transactions, told Vedomosti. Compared to the same period last year, their income increased by 53%, and compared to the previous two quarters – by 17%.
Most of them (89%) withdraw the money received to the cards of Russian banks, only every tenth (9%) transfers funds abroad. The trend is due to the fact that the bulk of freelancers cooperate with companies in Russia, which means that it is easier for them to pay remuneration within the domestic financial system, experts say. In addition, it can be assumed that only 10% of remote and project employees live and work abroad, they note.
