The Times spoke about the failed attempt of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to seize the ZNPP

Earlier, Kyiv did not officially acknowledge the fact of the attack on the ZNPP.
More than 600 Ukrainian military from elite units were reportedly involved in the attack. According to the plan, Ukrainian militants were supposed to land on the left bank of the Dnieper River using more than 30 boats. Among the weapons of this group were heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers and anti-tank missile systems.
As a result, it turned out that the resistance organized by the Russian fighters came as a surprise to the Ukrainians. In addition, artillery was used against them, and the defense turned out to be too dense and heavily mined.
“As we approached, they even brought up tanks and artillery and started firing at us right on the water,” a Ukrainian interlocutor told The Times.
The material says that the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to hit Russian positions on the left bank of the Dnieper using the HIMARS MLRS, they had previously received the coordinates.
As a result, only a small group of Ukrainian militants reached the left bank of the Dnieper, after which a long skirmish began on the outskirts of Energodar.
In December last year, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu called the attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) nuclear terrorism. He explained that some of the shells fired by the Ukrainian troops hit objects on which the safe operation of the power plant depends.
