“The tame general does not understand the situation the Armed Forces of Ukraine are in”: experts assessed the first orders of Commander-in-Chief Syrsky

The first orders of the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, confirmed the forecast of those military experts who called the appointee Zelensky’s “tame general.” As retired special forces officer Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk told MK, Syrsky’s sending of those reserves that were on the Zaluzhny shore into “meat assaults” indicates that the new commander in chief is not able to assess the operational situation, much less influence it.

The new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was appointed at the end of last week, but has already managed to prove himself in a new role. In his first interview as commander-in-chief, Syrsky said that Ukraine had switched to a defensive operation, the goal of which was to inflict maximum losses on the Russian army.

In a conversation with German journalists, the general said that he could leave his position in order to save the lives of soldiers, whom Syrsky called “the main value”: “I am ready to retreat from some position rather than sacrifice all my personnel.”

However, the words of the new commander-in-chief are seriously at odds with the deeds. In parallel with the statement that he values and will protect the life of every soldier, “General 200” sent the 3rd Assault Brigade, the best in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, to one of the most difficult and unpromising sectors of the front.

The elite unit is already losing its soldiers in battles. In addition, units of the brigade came under attack at the Selidovo training ground, which was hit by a missile attack, which led to serious losses.

Military expert Anatoly Matviychuk is confident that “General Butcher,” as the Ukrainian military themselves call Syrsky among themselves, will faithfully serve Zelensky, but not his army.

“Syrsky confirmed our guesses that he will be a “pocket general” and will carry out all of Zelensky’s commands,” says Matviychuk. – Pay attention to how easily he abandons the most equipped, well-trained, trained assault brigade to hold one of the most difficult sectors of the front, realizing that this brigade will perish, and he will never restore it again.

The expert recalled that the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny Bereg used the 3rd assault brigade as his strategic reserve. But Syrsky decided to use it and abandon it in order to maintain positions on the eastern front.

– I believe that Zelensky ordered him to hold his position at all costs so that the image of the “fighting and winning president” would not suffer. With all his actions, Zelensky is now trying to demonstrate that he is not giving up and will fight, notes Matviychuk.

As for Syrsky, the expert says, in his first interview he showed himself to be a military man who does not fully understand the situation in which his army is.

“In an interview with German media, it was said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will defend themselves, as well as improve and increase their combat potential for future offensives,” the expert says. – We see that Syrsky is not able to assess the military situation. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine simply uses the army from the point of view of political expediency to lead the country.

According to Matviychuk, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, following Zelensky’s rash orders, will most likely try to carry out several offensives in the near future, which may turn out to be the last in the history of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In turn, military analyst Andrei Klintsevich also notes that Syrsky is a “political appointee.” His actions will be largely subordinated to solving the political problems of the Zelensky regime.

“Zelensky has cleared the space associated with the military, who could rebel against him,” Klintsevich noted. – Zaluzhny, in conditions of turbulence at the front and in the social sphere, could turn around and go to Kyiv – to deal with the current government.

But Syrsky, according to the expert, on the contrary, is ready to carry out any of Zelensky’s tasks, including “sending people in teams to slaughter.”

– When we are now actually closing and cutting in half a fairly large enemy group on one of the sectors of the front. Syrsky can begin to transfer troops from other directions, regardless of losses. For the sake of political points, Syrsky is ready to pave the way with the bodies and blood of his soldiers,” Klintsevich voiced his point of view.

According to him, Syrsky’s actions will not have much significance for the Russian army.

– We understand perfectly well that with such a length of the front there are commanders on the ground, and Syrsky is simply a transit of this information when reporting to Zelensky… Ukraine does not have anything that could now change the situation on the battlefield. For us, any of their steps is predictable and understandable,” the expert concluded.
