The promising T-14 Armata tank is undergoing state military tests, sources said TASS. According to their information, if the tests are successful, the equipment will be put into service by the end of 2024. One of the agency’s interlocutors noted that during the tests, special attention is paid to “the performance of those systems and mechanisms that previously caused criticism from the customer.”

The T-14 Armata tank was developed by the Ural Design Bureau of Transport Engineering (part of Uralvagonzavod). Its turret with its weapons complex is uninhabited; three crew members are located in an isolated armored capsule in the front of the hull. Combined multi-layer armor is used, power can reach 1.5 thousand horsepower (up to 80 km/h). The main armament is a 125 mm 2A82-1M smoothbore gun.

Head of Rostec Sergei Chemezov in early March 2024 saidthat the tank is already in service in the Russian army. Source “RIA Novosti” in April 2023 claimedthat Russian troops began to use T-14 Armata to fire at Ukrainian positions. In July of the same year, TASS source statedthat the group of troops “South” used a tank in battle.
