The Swedish prosecutor’s office accused a citizen of spying for Russia

The Swedish prosecutor’s office charged Sergei Skvortsov with spying on the territory of the kingdom and the United States in favor of Russia, transmits Reuters.
A 60-year-old man, who is a citizen of Sweden and a citizen of the Russian Federation, was detained in November last year in Stockholm. According to the prosecution, Skvortsov was engaged in illegal intelligence activities from 2013 to 2022. He himself denies all charges.
Skvortsov and a company associated with him, the investigation believes, also purchased certain objects for Russia that Moscow and the Russian Armed Forces could not acquire due to sanctions.
Last week in Latvia detained four local residents on suspicion of working for the FSB of Russia. A criminal case has been initiated against them under the article on rendering assistance to a foreign state in activities directed against Latvia.
August 14 Minister of the Interior and Administration of Poland Mariusz Kaminsky informed about the arrest of two Russian citizens in the case of espionage. According to the authorities of the republic, the detainees allegedly distributed propaganda materials of the Wagner PMC in the territory of Krakow and Warsaw. On June 30, the Polish Prosecutor General’s Office announced the arrest of a Russian hockey player from a “first league club” who, according to the agency, was collecting information about critical infrastructure in several voivodships.
