The Swedish Ministry of Defense banned the military from using TikTok

Sveriges Radio reported that the Swedish Ministry of Defense has banned military personnel from installing the TikTok app on their official phones. Those who installed the application on a service gadget earlier are ordered to remove the prohibited software.
Journalists explained the decision by the fact that TikTok is owned by a Chinese company and, allegedly, the ability to collect user data, which can then fall into the hands of Chinese government agencies.
Earlier last week, a similar decision was reported by the Dutch government. There, however, it was about civil servants in general, and certainly not about prohibitions that must be implemented immediately. So far, everything remains at the level of recommendations, and only at the next stage will officials be given official smartphones, on which it will be simply impossible to install TikTok.
