The Supreme Court considered the screenshots evidence of illegal election campaigning

Evidence of violations of election laws on the Internet can be screenshots of a computer or mobile screen with the address of a site on which illegal materials are posted. This is reported by RAPSI with reference to the ruling of the Supreme Court (SC) of the Russian Federation.
“Evidence in cases of administrative offenses encroaching on electoral rights and committed in information and telecommunication networks, along with the protocol on the administrative offense, may be … a screenshot of a computer, mobile phone, tablet, containing an indication of the address of the Internet page on which the relevant information, as well as the date and time of its production,” the Supreme Court said in its decision.
The Supreme Court also ruled that specialists and experts can be used to discover and evaluate evidence on the Internet. Their goal will be “to establish the presence or absence of an administrative offense, the guilt of a person… as well as other circumstances that are important for the correct resolution of the case,” the court specified.
This week, the Central Election Commission announced the first three-day presidential election in the country’s history.
