The head of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets Anatoly Aksakov announced plans to postpone the extension of the five-year individual investment account of the third type (IIS-3). The Ministry of Finance proposed to increase the validity period of IIS-3 from 2024. According to Mr. Aksakov, the deputies will ask that the extension of the term begin in 10 years.

“IIS-3 five-year-old must operate for at least 10 years. Now it is planned to gradually increase the term of the account. It will have to be valid for 10 years, and then steps will begin to increase the tenure of a new type of account,” said Mr. Aksakov RBC at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

He added that the State Duma will offer to expand the list of tools that can be purchased at IIS-3. We are talking, among other things, about the instruments that will be issued in support of projects of technological sovereignty and structural adaptation of the economy. According to Anatoly Aksakov, it is necessary to stimulate investments in long-term projects.

June 1 Ministry of Finance introduced a bill to the government that allows individuals to open no more than three contracts for the maintenance of IIS-3 at the same time without limiting the amount of funds deposited on them. Under the new instrument, investors will receive tax preferences in the form of a combination of IIS-1 and IIS-2 benefits. In the Ministry of Finance indicatedfrom IIS-3 it will be possible to purchase only foreign securities of the EAEU countries.
