The State Duma will increase the age of children to delay fathers of many children: high school students have been forgotten again

Teenagers under 18 forgot to count, as with payments during a pandemic

The deputies want to increase the maximum age of dependent children of mobilized fathers so that the latter receive a deferment. Now that age is 16. They want to do up to 18. At the same time, in order to receive a deferment, the parent must still have three or more children in the family.

Children from 16 to 18 years old in Russia are generally a black hole. It’s like they don’t exist. They are not entitled to anything. They fly past benefits all the time. Although most often these are schoolchildren, grades 9-11, of course, who are not yet working and are fully supported by adults.

This was already the case at the very beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, when presidential payments of 10 thousand rubles for the age category from 16 to 18 were simply … squeezed.

Moreover, when people’s deputies were asked how it was, why teenagers were thrown with payments, they were very surprised that in Russia, it turns out, the age of majority comes from the age of eighteen.

And some politicians even said that at the age of sixteen it’s quite possible for oneself to leave school and go to work, and not hope for ten thousand …

In the end, the law triumphed, and high school students under 18 were still included in the recipients of covid money, but, alas, for now, the point is, they managed to grow in two years of the pandemic …

The same problem arose with the mobilization of fathers with many children (three children +). If the eldest child is already 16 years old, no deferment is allowed. People wrote letters, complained, resented.

The deputies promised to address the government with this issue. As a result, the Cabinet of Ministers supported the proposal to increase the age of dependent children of fathers with many children, who are required to be granted a deferment from military service. The corresponding letter, signed by Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, went to the State Duma.

As a bonus, the age of the older child is proposed to be increased not just to 18 years old, but even to 23 years old if he is a full-time student.

“We will seek the adoption of these amendments to the law “On mobilization”. The first step has been taken!”, the deputies believe.

Meanwhile, the authorities are bombarding with letters of help fathers of disabled children, parents with many children who have older children from their first marriage (if a woman has her own child, then even if there are three or more children in the family, a delay is not granted to a non-biological father), only sons in the family, fathers of two children with pregnant wives for more than 22 weeks

These categories of citizens also expect to receive a respite from mobilization in the future. Moreover, they may have additional time, since, according to Shoigu, at the moment, partial mobilization has been completed.
