The State Duma today, October 25, will consider in the first reading a bill on the refusal to index the salaries of judges, civil servants, police officers, and military officers in 2024. The government submitted the project to the State Duma on September 29.
According to the document, until January 1, 2025, provisions relating to the annual indexation of salaries will be suspended in several laws – “On the status of judges”, “On the status of a senator and the status of a State Duma deputy”, “On the state civil service”, “On social guarantees for employees of internal affairs bodies” affairs”, “On monetary allowances for military personnel”, “On social guarantees for employees of some federal executive bodies” (applies to employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service, the Federal Bailiff Service, the Ministry of Emergency Situations). At the same time, the government will not abandon the indexation of wages for employees of public sector organizations; payments to them will be increased according to the projected inflation rate of 4.5%.
Within the framework of the budget, the priority is the fulfillment of social obligations, infrastructure development and ensuring the objectives of the military operation, he said “Vedomosti” First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Construction Daniil Bessarabov. According to him, in this regard, it was proposed to suspend wage indexation for a year. Mr. Bessarabov clarified that by the second reading of the draft law they will discuss the possibility of leaving the indexation of salaries of military personnel and persons equivalent to them.
In early October, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on increasing the salaries of Russian judges by 5.5%. Indexation earlier this year Was held for officials, state employees, civilian personnel of military units, as well as for the president, Prosecutor General and Chairman of the Investigative Committee.
