Deputy Zatulin: Great Britain should remember that their island is not unsinkable

First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin said that Britain, by supplying Ukraine with means of attack on Crimea, the Crimean Bridge and fleet facilities, forgets that the island of Great Britain itself is not unsinkable.

Let us recall that it was previously reported that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky discussed with British Defense Minister Grant Shapps “long-range capabilities” and strengthening the air defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson previously said that Ukraine is capable of seizing Crimea.

“Johnson is a creative personality who is haunted not only by the ghost of Churchill and Ancient Rome, but also by the memories of the Crimean War that excite any English chauvinist. I believe that this is precisely what explains the ineradicable craving of Johnson and other English admirals for everything connected with the Crimea, the Black Sea or Sevastopol,” Zatulin noted.

According to him, the military assistance that Great Britain sends to Ukraine and various statements about the seizure of Crimea have not only a political, but also a historical context. Britain wants to rule the seas and therefore shows interest in the peninsula.

“Crimea is an unsinkable aircraft carrier. And all British aircraft carriers are, to put it mildly, sinkable. Including the island of Great Britain,” Zatulin emphasized.
