The State Duma supports the government’s decision to introduce temporary restrictions on the export of gasoline and diesel. This was stated by the speaker of the lower house Vyacheslav Volodin.

“We support the approach. It is necessary to first provide for your consumers and then supply abroad. We will keep the issue under control,” wrote he is on his Telegram channel.

Volodin noted that agriculture is a strategic sector that “not only ensures the food security of our country, but also brings revenue to the budget.” In 2022, Russia sold 60 million tons of grain, which brought in $41.6 billion. At the same time, he continued, this year during the harvesting campaign and sowing of winter crops, the industry was faced with an increase in the cost of diesel fuel and its shortage.

Earlier today, the Russian government introduced temporary restrictions on the export of motor gasoline and diesel fuel. The Cabinet of Ministers believes that the imposed restrictions will “saturate” the fuel market, which should lead to lower prices.
