The State Duma has submitted a draft appeal to the government to ban Polish trucks from entering Russia in connection with the anti-Russian policy of the Polish authorities. The document is placed in the electronic base State Duma, it was introduced by the Committee on Transport and Development of Transport Infrastructure. Previously, these measures announced Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
It follows from the appeal that the deputies propose to allow the movement of Polish trucks “in order to re-couple trailers or semi-trailers or reload goods onto the transport of Russian carriers.”
As an example of Poland’s anti-Russian policy, the appeal mentions “capture school building at the Russian Embassy in Warsaw, April 29. Officially, the Polish authorities explained the blocking of the building by the fact that Russia illegally occupies some real estate in Poland.
Viacheslav Volodin said yesterday, May 21, that if the ban is adopted, Poland could lose up to €8.5 billion. Mr. Volodin believes that 2,000 Polish transport companies that employ more than 20,000 drivers could go bankrupt.
