The State Duma proposed to introduce a ban on the sale of beer and cider in public catering places, this measure will apply to individual entrepreneurs (IP). About it reported RIA Novosti with reference to the expert report of the inter-factional working group on protecting the health of citizens from alcohol, tobacco and drug threats.

“Introduce a ban on … the retail sale of beer, beer drinks, cider, poire, mead when providing catering services to individual entrepreneurs,” the document says.

In addition, individual entrepreneurs may be required to transfer information on the retail sale of beer and beer drinks to the unified state information system.

Earlier, Vedomosti wrote that the National Association of Traditional Cider Producers, as well as other market participants that make similar products from natural berries and fruits, turned to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a proposal to establish minimum retail prices (MRP) for cider. According to Alexei Nebolsin, the founder of the Yablochny Spas cider factory, the MRC is needed to create a barrier from unscrupulous producers. Ministry of Finance supported this offer. At the same time, the ministry proposed lifting the moratorium on inspections of producers and sellers of alcohol and spirits.
