The State Duma estimated the debt on taxes and fees last year at 2.5 trillion rubles

The debt of Russian companies in taxes to the state treasury increased by a third, to 2.5 trillion rubles. About it reported Izvestia with reference to the conclusion of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy on the execution of the budget for the last year.

“As of January 1, 2023, the total debt on taxes and fees, insurance premiums, penalties, tax sanctions and interest amounted to 2.5 trillion rubles. <...> The indicator increased by 545 billion rubles. (or 27.5%) compared to the amount as of January 1, 2022, the document says.

According to the text of the opinion, the increase in debt is due to the delay in paying taxes by individual companies, additional accruals of corporate income tax as a result of tax audits, non-payment for the use of natural resources, as well as the delay in paying taxes under special regimes, excises, local taxes and fees.

In connection with the budget deficit The increasing amount of debt is a matter of concern to the Committee. The State Duma recommended “forecasting the risks of tax arrears by sector and region” when conducting tax monitoring.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the budget deficit amounted to 3.35 trillion rubles at the end of last year, and 2.95 trillion rubles at the end of the first half of 2023. At the same time, June was the first month of this year when fixed budget surplus – 800 billion rubles. (+29.8% yoy). Since the beginning of the year, treasury revenues amounted to 12.381 trillion rubles, demonstrating a decline of 12% compared to the same period last year. Expenses increased by 19% to 14.976 trillion rubles.
