A deputy from Bashkortostan criticized a fellow countryman for demanding that he cover his chest to the Motherland monument
State Duma deputy from Bashkiria Dinar Gilmutdinov commented on the video message of fellow countryman Rasul Akhiyaretdinov to Vladimir Putin, who demanded changes to the “Motherland” sculpture in Volgograd due to “protruding nipples”.
“History cannot be remade,” stated Deputy “Rise”. “We are not fascists, we need to change something.”
Gilmutdinov recalled that “now our monuments have begun to be destroyed,” and asked a question. Is it worth repeating the practice of changing monuments?
“What an idiot, excuse the expression,” the deputy added. “No alterations, this is stupid and wrong.”
The Battle of Stalingrad Museum told reporters that making changes to the monument is impossible, since “it is a specially protected cultural heritage site.”
