The State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation recommended the adoption of a bill proposing to make the absence of deputies at meetings without good reason for six months in a row the basis for terminating the powers of deputies. The draft also introduces the possibility of not submitting declarations to municipal and regional deputies who exercise powers on a non-permanent basis.
Now the initiative is being considered in the second reading, about 30 amendments were received. The head of the committee, Pavel Krasheninnikov, said that the bill provides for a ban on the publication of personal data in reporting information. Instead, only generalized information will be made public, and this change will affect, among other things, deputies of the Duma and members of the Federation Council. In addition, as part of the approved amendments, it is established that the chairmen of legislative assemblies will work only on a permanent basis.
“The bill also provides for a unified approach to the placement of reporting information. Personal data will not be placed on the Internet, only generalized, statistical information about the submission by deputies of relevant information and their implementation of anti-corruption legislation. Such a norm is proposed to be extended also to State Duma deputies and senators,” said Mr. Krasheninnikov (quoted by RIA Novosti).
