Deputy Sheremet called Musk’s plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict irrelevant

American businessman Elon Musk’s plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict has already lost its relevance. This statement was made by Mikhail Sheremet, deputy of the Russian State Duma from Crimea.

“Musk’s plan is no longer relevant and uninteresting, as they say, an expensive spoon for dinner,” said the Crimean parliamentarian.

He explained his words by saying that over the past year a lot has changed in the combat zone: the Ukrainian counter-offensive failed, and Russia showed the whole world the ability to repel the entire West. Sheremet cited the population of the new Russian regions, which have already made their final choice, as the second reason for the failure of Musk’s proposal to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. The third and final reason is Crimea, which is and will remain Russian territory.

The Russian deputy also added that the Joe Biden administration, like the Ukrainian authorities themselves, are not interested in resolving the conflict.

Elon Musk previously stated that if the plan he proposed last year had been adopted, a huge number of deaths could have been avoided. The entrepreneur’s plan involves repeated voting in the territories of new Russian regions “under UN supervision,” the preservation of Crimea as a “formal part of Russia,” as well as guarantees of water supply to the Crimean region and the neutral status of Ukraine.
