The State Duma asks the UK to check the “Council of Mothers and Wives” on the article about fakes about the army

State Duma deputy Tatyana Butskaya sent an appeal to the chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin, in which she tells on the activities of the “Council of Mothers and Wives” and asks that its members be held accountable. Earlier, the activists of the movement tried to take part in the meeting of President Vladimir Putin with the mothers of servicemen participating in the special operation.

According to Butskaya, the actions of several members of the council contain signs of a crime under Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public dissemination of deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation). The “Council of Mothers and Wives”, according to the deputy, has been conducting “openly hostile, anti-state activities in recent months, hiding behind the wives and mothers of the mobilized”. Butskaya in her Telegram channel also indicates that the council is associated with the “Alliance of Doctors”, “who had nothing to do with medical practice”,

“They have the same methods of working with people, and information stuffing is similar. They are engaged in simply rocking the “boat”, making information stuffing through the Internet, spreading fakes about the Russian Army, about the country’s leadership,” the deputy said.

In her opinion, the activities of the UMC “are not only anti-state, but also criminal in nature.”

The movement was created at the end of September at the site of the “People’s Union for the Revival of Russia”, it consists of relatives of mobilized military personnel. Previously, women from the Council were not able to take part in the meeting of President Vladimir Putin with relatives of NWO members, which took place at the end of November. In December, like wrote Kommersant, the leader of the Council of Mothers and Wives movement Olga Tsukanova and journalist Svetlana Belova were detained, the latter were charged with distributing extremist materials (Article 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).

In December, the council reported, citing Bastrykin’s office, that the chairman of the Investigative Committee instructed him to organize a meeting with the mothers of the participants in the special operation who had turned to him in the near future. “Comments were left in the account of the Information Center of the Investigative Committee of Russia with a request for a personal reception of women members of the Council of Mothers and Wives, whose sons are participants in a special military operation to denazify Ukraine,” reported at the reception.

The council group on VKontakte has been blocked, and the movement’s Telegram channel has more than 23,000 subscribers.
