The State Duma appealed to foreign parliaments about the execution of Russian prisoners of war

The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a statement of the chamber calling on the parliaments of the world to condemn the Kyiv regime and assist in bringing to justice the direct perpetrators of the execution of Russian prisoners of war.
A day earlier, a document was submitted to the chamber, in which the deputies called the incident in Makiivka “a flagrant violation by Ukraine of International Humanitarian Law,” including the 1949 Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
In addition, the parliamentarians pointed to the violation by the Ukrainian side of international human rights norms, including the 1984 Convention against Torture and Other Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.
