The State Department denied the adoption of decisions to confiscate assets of the Russian Federation

American authorities have not yet made any final decisions on the possible confiscation of Russian assets frozen in the West as part of sanctions. This was announced at an online briefing by US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O’Brien.
According to the politician, Washington plans to develop the mentioned decisions not individually, but in the format of the Group of Seven (G7).
O’Brien did not provide other details regarding the potential confiscation of Russian assets.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, meanwhile, demands from Western partners seize from Russia all her assets are blocked. The politician made a similar statement once again during his European voyage – while on a visit to Tallinn.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba expressed confidence that Kyiv will receive frozen Russian assets to restore their own economy. The politician said that this “will happen one hundred percent, but the question is to what extent.”
