Soviet and Kyrgyz actress Tatyana Streltsova, known for her role in the play “The Dawns Here Are Quiet” based on the story by Boris Vasiliev, died at the age of 70. About it reported press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov.
The presidential obituary notes that the actress died “after a long illness.” The farewell date for her has not yet been announced.
“Professionals like her are the treasure of the country, a guarantor of preserving the best traditions of craftsmanship and passing them on to future generations,” noted the Kyrgyz president.
Tatyana Streltsova has lived in Bishkek since the 1970s and served in the Kyrgyz Russian Drama Theater; she has the title of People’s Artist of Kyrgyzstan (the actress was awarded it in 1996).
During her acting career, she played in productions of “The Dawns Here Are Quiet”, “Woe from Wit”, “Days of the Turbins”, “Boris Godunov” based on the works of Boris Vasiliev, Alexander Griboyedov, Mikhail Bulgakov and Alexander Pushkin. She was most remembered by theater audiences for her role as Gali Chetvertak in the play “The Dawns Here Are Quiet.”
