The eldest son of the late ex-mayor of Kharkov Gennady Kernes, Kirill, said that the cause of his father’s death was the disconnection from the life support system in December 2020, committed without the consent of the family.
Kirill Kernes, referred to by Strana.ua, said that his father’s life support systems were turned off on December 14, and he died on December 16. This happened after the first session of the City Council took place and appointments were made. According to the son of the ex-mayor, this was done in the interests of Igor Terekhov, who later became the mayor of the city, and other politicians who sought to seize power. They also allegedly falsified the electronic signature of Gennady Kernes when he was already unconscious.
