The slowdown in inflation in Europe has stopped

Inflation in Europe in monthly terms began to accelerate again. In February, compared to January, prices increased by 0.8%, Eurostat reported. Prior to that, for three months, the indicator slowed down. On an annualized basis, inflation in the eurozone also declined slightly in February. The indicator was 8.5% against 8.6% in January. But core inflation – excluding food and energy – has also begun to pick up. The indicator in February amounted to 5.6% yoy against 5.3% in January and 5.2% in December.
A slowdown in annual inflation was observed in most reporting European economies, including Estonia (from 18.6% in January to 17.8% in February), Lithuania (from 18.5% to 17.2%), Latvia (from 21.4% to 20.1%) Greece (from 7.3 to 6.5%), Italy (from 10.7 to 9.9%), Austria (from 11.5 to 11%), Croatia (from 12.5 to 11 .7%) and Cyprus (from 6.8 to 6.7%). Prices accelerated in Germany (from 9.2% to 9.3%), France (from 7% to 7.2%), and the Netherlands (from 8.4% to 8.9%).
