45% of Russians do not have enough salary to meet basic needs, according to a survey by online recruiting hh.ru. For another 36% of respondents, their salaries barely cover basic needs. In 2021, those whose salaries were not enough and barely enough were 25% and 39%, respectively.
The survey was conducted October 2–13 among 4,934 Russian workers and job seekers. The results are RBC.
20% of respondents said that their salary allows them to buy everything they need. In 2021, the number was 36%. Dissatisfied with their salaries, survey participants reported how much they lack to cover their needs. 56% of respondents estimated the amount at more than 20 thousand rubles, 23% – up to 20 thousand rubles, 21% – at 15 thousand rubles.
Most often, they said that their salary was enough in Moscow (26%), Tomsk region (24%), Tatarstan and Primorsky Territory (23% each).
The October review of the Bank of Russia records a frontal deterioration in assessments of the provision of Russian companies with employees in all industries – the indicator reached a minimum since the beginning of observations in 2020. What is happening may be a consequence of the slowdown in real wage growth discovered by the Center for International Relations in the October macroreview.
