It will not be possible to mobilize Ukrainian men abroad by force. This admission was made on Thursday, January 18, by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexey Danilov.
As Danilov explained, in Kyiv they understand that Ukrainians living abroad are subject to the laws of the respective countries – “if a citizen officially has the status of a refugee who has suffered from military aggression, we will not be able to intervene.”
As a way out, he proposed making the amendments on mobilization fairer so that they would not raise so many questions and serious discontent in society.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine lifted restrictions on the number of military-industrial complex workers reserved from conscription. At the same time, there was talk in the country about canceling the exemption from mobilization for Verkhovna Rada deputies and officials.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, answering a question about mobilization, noted that “you can’t just breathe air, we are at war.” For this reason, all Ukrainians are obliged “either fight or work”.
