Former leader of the Communist Party of Ukraine Pyotr Symonenko has been put on the wanted list, TASS reports with reference to the database of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As noted, the initiator of the search for Symonenko was the Ukrainian Security Service. Currently, the party’s activities on the territory of Ukraine are prohibited.
Symonenko is accused of “publicly calling for a violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or the seizure of state power” in his activities. According to the criminal legislation of Ukraine, he can be sentenced to 5 years in prison.
In addition, the Ukrainian special services accuse the ex-leader of the Communist Party of Ukraine of supporting a Russian special military operation. The SBU claims that Simonenko moved to the Russian Federation, where he was appointed deputy chairman of an association controlled by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
