The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs will request information about the income of expats from the tax service at least once a year. The corresponding order of the ministry was posted on website official publication of regulatory legal acts.

The introduced measure is intended to establish control over compliance by the employer or customer with the conditions for attracting highly qualified specialists. Prior to this, the frequency of such requests from the Ministry of Internal Affairs had not been established. The law established only the deadline for providing information; it was five days. This norm remains the same.

The personal income tax rate in Russia for resident foreigners is 13%. The same percentage will be paid by non-residents working in Russia under a patent or who are highly qualified specialists, or who are members of government programs to facilitate the resettlement of compatriots.
