The Russian military will be equipped with a new remote-controlled sniper system called the Robosniper. According to a RIA Novosti source, the system was successfully tested at the plant and will soon be sent for trial operation to the troops.
“Robosniper” was developed by the design bureau of integrated systems together with “Lobaev Robotics”. Although the performance characteristics were not announced, the project is a development of the Anti-Maidan-Frontier research work. The founder of Lobaev Arms, Vladislav Lobaev, said that the purpose of this project was to create a robotic sniper anti-drone system. This system could be used to combat small unmanned aerial vehicles, which would save expensive missiles.
“Robosniper” can be an effective tool for the military, allowing them to deliver accurate strikes over long distances using remote control. Such a system can also reduce the risk to snipers, who often have to stay in the combat zone to deliver accurate shots. At the moment, it is not known exactly when the “Robosniper” will be put into combat operation, but its appearance may change the technological picture of modern military tactics.
