The Russian military repulsed the attempt of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to surround Balakliya

The Armed Forces (AF) of Russia repelled an attempt by the Ukrainian military to surround the city of Balakleya in the Kharkiv region, Vitaly Ganchev, head of the pro-Russian military-civilian administration (VGA) of the region, said on the air of Rossiya 24.
“In the area of Balakleya, the armed forces of Ukraine made an attempt to capture the city, encircling it, but they managed to bend the line of defense a little over part of the territory, then they were thrown back again,” Ganchev said (quote according to RIA Novosti).
The head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration emphasized that Balakleya is under the control of the Russian side and everything is in order in the city, but, like all settlements nearby, it is constantly under fire.
Formerly Ganchev informedthat due to shelling by the Ukrainian military in the Kupyansky district of the Kharkiv region, the evacuation of women and children began.
On September 1, the representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov informedthat the Armed Forces of Ukraine made unsuccessful attempts to attack in the Kharkov and Nikolaev-Kryvyi Rih directions.
According to TASS, about 20% of the territory of the Kharkiv region is under the control of the forces of Russia and the Luhansk People’s Republic. Civil-military administrations operate in Volchansk, Izyum, Kupyansk and the village of Kazachya Lopan.
