State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein reported in Telegramthat the Russian Guard who detained the man who attacked the governor of the Murmansk region Andrei Chibis will be presented with a reward.

According to the deputy, a riot police officer was among the people following Mr. Chibis at the time of the attack. Mr. Khinshtein said that the National Guard reacted instantly and rushed to the criminal, who at that moment was holding the head of the region.

The deputy said that the riot police threw the attacker, but he resisted, so the National Guard had to use a weapon: after firing a warning shot, he wounded the criminal in the leg, after which he twisted him and handed him over to the police.

Mr. Khinshtein noted that the National Guard member was at the event with the participation of Mr. Chibis at the request of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Murmansk region. Also present at the meeting of the governor with residents were employees of the Apatitsky Ministry of Internal Affairs, the deputy said.
