The Russian government officially supported the proposal of the State Duma Vice-Speaker from the “New People” Vladislav Davankov to create a short number through which Russians can quickly report the flight of drones. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported this in response to a deputy request from Mr. Davankov.

In a letter from the department, which quotes “RIA News”it is said that changes will be made to the decree of the Russian government “On approval of the list of emergency operational services, the call of which must be provided by the telecom operator around the clock and free of charge to the user of communication services” “in terms of additional inclusion of services responding to overflights of unmanned aerial vehicles.”

It is assumed that the system will work as follows: any Russian who notices a flying drone will be able to call 112 (or another short telephone number) and name the location of the UAV detection. After this, the information will be transferred to security forces and operational services. According to Vladislav Davankov, this should lead to minimizing damage from drone attacks for the population and critical infrastructure of the Russian Federation.
