The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the Charge d’Affaires of the Czech Republic to the Russian Federation in connection with Ukrainian accusations, “picked up” by Prague, about Russia’s alleged involvement in the attacks on the village of Groza in the Kharkov region.

“On October 17, the Charge d’Affaires of the Czech Republic in the Russian Federation, J. Ondrejka, was summoned to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to whom, in response to the recent demarche of the Czech Foreign Ministry, a strong protest was declared and the Russian position on the situation around Ukraine was outlined in detail,” – reported at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The diplomat, as told by the department, was “harshly” pointed out to the “unseemly role of the Czech Republic in the Ukrainian conflict”, active support of Kiev with the aim of “inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia”, as well as the supply of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine that contribute to the continuation of the conflict. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prague’s attempts to “act as champions of human rights” look untenable against this background.

Earlier TASS with reference to Czech media wrotethat the Czech Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian Ambassador to the Republic Alexander Zmeevsky because of the shelling of the Ukrainian village of Groza, which killed more than 50 people on October 5.

The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine that the tragedy in Groza “occurred exactly at the moment when Zelensky convinced the European Union of the need to continue supporting the Kiev regime at the EU summit in Spain.” He also said that at the time of the missile strike, the funeral of a “high-ranking nationalist” was taking place in Groza. The Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs previously reported that the explosion in the cafe occurred during a funeral service for one of the village residents.

In the Kremlin after what happened in Groza they said that Russia does not strike civilians, but works exclusively against concentrations of military and army leadership.
