The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expanded the sanctions list to include high-ranking officials and military leaders of the European Union, reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It is specified that personal sanctions were introduced “in response to the next restrictive measures against Russian individuals and legal entities.” “Restrictions apply, in particular, to the top military leadership of the European Union, high-ranking officials of the law enforcement agencies of the EU member states, representatives of European commercial organizations in the production of weapons and military equipment involved in the supply of military products to Ukraine,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
In accordance with the law “On the Procedure for Departure from the Russian Federation and Entry into the Russian Federation”, they will be prohibited from entering the territory of the country, the corresponding note was transferred to the EU Delegation in Russia.
“We would like to remind the initiators of anti-Russian measures that any unfriendly actions against Russia will continue to meet a harsh response from our side,” the Foreign Ministry stressed.
Former ministry expanded personal sanctions in response to US actions – 25 citizens of the United States were banned from entering the country. The list includes US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and her deputies, senators, lobbyists, business representatives and Hollywood actors Sean Penn and Ben Stiller.
