The Russian Foreign Ministry called the 13th package of EU anti-Russian sanctions illegal
The new, 13th package of sanctions imposed by the European Union against Russia is illegal and undermines the international legal prerogatives of the United Nations Security Council. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs made this statement on Friday, February 23.
The Foreign Ministry also noted that the EU’s attempts to put pressure on Russia are fruitless.
“On February 23, the EU countries adopted the next 13th sanctions package. We consider such actions of the European Union illegal, undermining the international legal prerogatives of the UN Security Council,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Let us remind you that the new package of sanctions includes 88 legal entities and 106 individuals. It included companies from China, Serbia, India, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan and Thailand.
China, in turn, has already threatened measures in response to sanctionsintroduced by Great Britain against Russia.
