The Russian Foreign Ministry accused Kyiv of trying to disrupt the IAEA mission at the ZNPP

The Ukrainian side is doing everything to disrupt the trip of the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the Zaporozhye NPP, should from the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The Foreign Ministry pointed out that Ukrainian troops are inflicting new strikes on the ZNPP, including hitting the spent nuclear fuel storage area.
“The Russian side is doing everything necessary to ensure that the international IAEA mission at the ZNPP takes place, proceeds in a safe mode and is able to achieve all the goals set for it. The main thing is to stop the nuclear arbitrariness on the part of the Zelensky regime and put an end to the shelling of the station, ensuring its further safe operation,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Earlier today, Energodar announced another shelling of the ZNPP by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In total, four hits on the ZNPP in the area of the storage of radioactive isotopes were recorded. The infrastructure and key nodes of the station were not damaged.
The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, reported that the IAEA mission could arrive at the ZNPP early next week. The details of the trip are being specified. According to the publication, the mission could bring spare parts, radiation control devices and other tools to ZNPP “amid fears that the fighting in the area, which damaged power lines and caused fires at the facility, could lead to a nuclear catastrophe.”
During the special operation, the Russian army took control of a part of the Zaporozhye region of Ukraine, including Enerhodar, where the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, the ZNPP, is located. Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine are regularly shelling Energodar, the surrounding villages and the territory of the ZNPP adjacent to the city.
