Another anti-sabotage boat of project 21980 “Grachonok” joined the Russian Navy. The ship entered service with the Leningrad Naval Base, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
“Rook” is designed to protect coastal waters and counter sabotage submarine forces and enemy assets, the military department said.
In 2022, this is already the second boat of this type that entered service with the LenVMB.
In the morning in Kronstadt, a solemn ceremony of hoisting the flag of the Navy on a boat was held under the leadership of the commander of the base, captain 1st rank Andrei Saloshin, to which he handed over the Andreevsky flag to the commander of the ship, midshipman Vitaly Kasyanov. After the ceremony, the boat officially joined the fleet.
So far, the boat has only a side number. The ship will receive its own name after the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy.
