The Russian government has set a quota for 2024 for attracting foreign workers arriving on a visa at 155,929 people. This is 32 thousand more than in 2023.
Resolution signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. About 156 thousand invitations to enter and the same number of work permits will be issued.
40.5 thousand visa invitations will be sent to skilled workers of large and small industrial enterprises, 30.8 thousand – to workers in mining, capital mining, construction and repair work, 22.2 thousand – to operators, machine operators, machine operators , fitters-assemblers of stationary equipment. Also expected in the Russian Federation are workers in the metalworking and engineering industries (15.6 thousand), heads of institutions, organizations and enterprises (7.2 thousand), unskilled workers (6.5 thousand), workers in the sphere of personal services and the protection of citizens and property (4.8 thousand) and others.
We are talking only about labor migrants who enter the country on a visa. Total in the Russian Federation in 2022 moved in about 3.5 million labor migrants – this is a third more than in 2021.
