The Russian Embassy considered Britain's new sanctions an attempt to interfere in the country's affairs

The latest package of UK sanctions looks like an attempt to interfere in Russia’s internal affairs on the part of London. About it reported TASS citing a statement from the Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom.

“We consider the introduction of unlawful unilateral restrictions against a number of Russian officials and the Central Election Commission on September 29 as another legally insignificant and futile gesture by the British authorities. This is not the first arrogant attempt by London to interfere in the internal affairs of our country and impermissibly call into question its territorial integrity,” the diplomatic mission said.

The embassy noted that in the UK there is an ongoing dispute over the legitimacy and reliability of the results of the referendums that took place last year in the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. The diplomatic department recalled that in 2013 the United Kingdom held a plebiscite on the Malvinas (Falkland) Islands, and the British government never doubted the results of this referendum to determine the status of the archipelago. According to the diplomatic mission, this approach is a “clear double standard.”

The embassy called on London to assess the new world reality more soberly, no matter how inconvenient modern realities may be for the West. Sanction “edicts” against the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation cannot affect the determination of Russians to defend the well-being and security of new regions, the department emphasized.

The Russian diplomatic mission also saw “special cynicism” in the introduction of personal sanctions against the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov. “The British authorities are well aware that the militants of the Kiev regime, lured by them, deliberately strike at rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, medical and fire brigades responding to calls in the zone of artillery shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the embassy emphasized. The diplomatic body emphasized that Russian rescuers are selflessly fulfilling their professional duty, but in the West the action is being portrayed as “destabilization of Ukraine.”

The UK introduced new anti-Russian sanctions on September 29. The next package included Kurenkov, the Central Election Commission, State Duma deputy Alexander Sidyakin, Chairman of the Government of the Kherson Region Andrei Alekseenko, Minister of Justice of Crimea Oleg Shapovalov, Deputy Head of the Administration of the Zaporozhye Region Viktor Emelianenko, Deputy Head of the Administration of the Head of the LPR Igor Babkin, and. O. Deputy Chairman of the DPR Government Vladimir Ezhikov, Chairman of the Electoral Commission of the Kherson Region Marina Zakharova, Head of the Electoral Commission of the Zaporozhye Region Galina Katyushchenko and Secretary of the Central Election Commission Natalya Budarina.
