The Russian diaspora of Vietnam was afraid of the invasion of fellow citizens deported from Bali: “There will be problems”

To allow citizens of the Russian Federation to stay in the country without a visa for 45 days – such a decision was made the day before by the Cabinet of Ministers of Vietnam. The extension of the visa-free period, which has been only 15 days until now, did not take place without the participation of relocators from the Russian Federation: they have repeatedly addressed the Vietnamese immigration authorities with this request through a special website. But today their joy is overshadowed by rumors that our compatriots deported from Bali will pour into Vietnam on such an occasion.

Why meeting with compatriots frightens the Russian-speaking diaspora of Vietnam, we learned from them.

The extension of visa-free stay for citizens of 13 countries, including Russia, was initiated by the country’s tourism industry in the hope of increasing the tourist flow (after the lifting of coronavirus restrictions, 3.66 million tourists visited Vietnam, which is only 20% of the pre-pandemic tourist flow). For the sake of tourists from 13 selected states, Vietnam even goes for a “unilateral visa-free regime” without expecting reciprocal hospitality. Moreover, the list of “trustworthy” countries from the Vietnamese point of view, except for South Korea, Japan and Russia, is entirely the Schengen zone. True, the decision will come into force not earlier than May, it has yet to be considered at the next meeting of the Vietnamese parliament.

“Vietnam is a typically socialist country, where the decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers are usually taken by the parliament,” believe the Russian-speaking diaspora, which settled on the Vietnamese coast of the South China Sea. – As from the new year, Vietnam has canceled a free three-month visa extension for us due to the geopolitical situation in our country, so we constantly write petitions asking for an extension of at least up to a month, because once every 15 days we leave Vietnam for the sake of new 15 days and expensive and troublesome. For long-stayers from the Russian Federation, this innovation has its own good news: you can now stay on an e-visa for 3 months. It requires an invitation, so an e-visa is more convenient for those who are here for a long time.

– Now you feel good, and the Vietnamese tourism industry!

– Yes, but the fact is that there are still no direct flights from Russia to Vietnam. And on the pereklady long and expensive. Therefore, the 45-day visa-free regime, of course, attracted the attention of Russians, but not those whom we would like to see. And not those who will be happy with the Vietnamese tourism industry. But they are the closest. These are ours, deported from neighboring countries.

And the situation with the influx of relocators from the Russian Federation in Thailand and Indonesia is becoming more critical every day. The authorities of these countries are unhappy that forced guests violate the visa regime, work illegally, and also spit on local customs and customs. But the “Russian Vietnamese” are more worried about their compatriots deported from Bali.

“The deportation procedure provides for deportation to the place of citizenship,” explains Sergey, a relocant from the Moscow region. – It is possible from Tai, as there are direct flights to the Russian Federation. And from Bali and from Indonesia as a whole, it is impossible to control where the deportee will go during transit. Yes, the authorities do not need it, if only the restless guest leaves them. And since the person being sent is obliged to buy a ticket for himself, they buy to Kuala Lumpur, from where it is 1.5 hours to Ho Chi Minh City. And now China has also been added as a transfer hub.

– And what, they are all to you?!

– While they were scaring away “visarans” (leaving the country in order to obtain a new visa. – Auth.) every 15 days, and from the coast to Laos or Cambodia is quite far and not cheap. And the deported contingent usually does not have money for flights back and forth. But a 45-day visa-free regime will suit them perfectly, many, they say, are already on their suitcases.

As explained in the Russian diaspora, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, although it has a developed resort infrastructure, due to the peculiarities of the state system, differs significantly from the same Thailand and Bali. Therefore, the contingent of relocators from the Russian Federation is different here – they are mainly remote workers working for reputable companies outside the SRV.

“The Vietnamese Riviera does not have such a developed entertainment industry, nightlife and, in general, such riotous freemen as ours are used to in Thailand, Goa or Bali,” compatriots share. – If in Bali and Phuket our people “squeeze out” the local businesses, illegally taxi and get into a showdown with the local authorities, then this will not work for them here. The Vietnamese are strict. And the entire Russian-speaking diaspora will have problems.

Judging by the news from the region, fears are not in vain. The Indonesian authorities report that in Bali they are preparing for the deportation of a Russian … who showed his naked ass to the main shrine of the island called Mount Mother. Vigilant citizens saw the fifth point of the guest from the Russian Federation in social networks and reported to the immigration department. According to compatriots, such vigilance today, including in social networks, is in use both among the Balinese and among their own.

– Yesterday the guys gathered for poker in the villa, – says the Russian, who is in Bali. – We had just sat down, when an immigrating girl came and covered 30 people at once. Guess how much they asked for per person, so as not to bring to deportation? $30 thousand!

– And how did poker interfere with them?

– Gambling is illegal in Indonesia. But it doesn’t matter that a maximum of 10 people can play poker at once. They swept up everyone who was at the villa, and loaded them “in violation of local laws.” What’s wrong with them, right? Either they will receive a bribe, or an increase in salary for the next “identified and deported violator”. Rather, the second, since our extra 30 thousand bucks is not lying around here.

Meanwhile, in Tae, one of the Russian women expelled for indecent behavior was blacklisted for entry … for 50 years. When asked how she is now half a century without Ty, the relocant cheerfully replied that she would now go to Vietnam.
