The Russian Defense Ministry said that the fragments of a rocket that fell in Poland belonged to Ukraine

Russian experts from the military-industrial complex (OPK) have identified the debris in photographs from the missile crash site in Poland as elements of the Ukrainian S-300 missile system, said Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.

“We would like to emphasize that high-precision strikes were carried out on targets only on the territory of Ukraine and at a distance of no closer than 35 km from the Ukrainian-Polish border. Photographs of the wreckage found in the settlement of Przewoduv, published in the evening of November 15 in Poland, were unambiguously identified by Russian experts of the military-industrial complex as elements of the S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” he said.

Konashenkov emphasized that all statements by foreign politicians and Ukrainian sources about the fall of supposedly Russian missiles on the territory of Poland are “a deliberate provocation with the aim of escalating the situation.”

On November 15, Polish media reported that in the country fell two rockets, killing two people. Against the backdrop of these events, the Polish authorities called an urgent meeting of the national security committee. It was noted that the explosions occurred in the village of Przewodow in eastern Poland.

Later, AP, citing an American intelligence source, wrote that the missiles that fell in Poland were allegedly Russian. The Polish Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian ambassador for a detailed explanation of what happened, the ministry reported on the “Russian origin” of the missiles.

At the same time, the Pentagon reportedthat they do not have data that would confirm the Russian origin of the missiles. In the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation refuted Polish media reports about the fall of Russian missiles. The agency called the publications a “deliberate provocation” and stated that Russia did not strike near the Ukrainian-Polish state border.

Later US President Joe Biden informedthat, according to preliminary data and the trajectory of the rocket that fell in Poland, its launch from Russian territory is unlikely. Similar position adheres to and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to him, Russia has nothing to do with the missile incident. Also today AP informedthat the rocket that fell on the territory of Poland was fired by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to shoot down a Russian projectile.
