The Russian Defense Ministry announced the capture of the village of Peski in the DPR

As a result of the offensive, the allied forces completely liberated the settlement of Peski in the DPR, said the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov.

“As a result of the offensive actions of the allied forces, the settlement of Peski of the Donetsk People’s Republic was completely liberated,” Konashenkov said.

August 2 Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu declaredthat during the liberation of the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the Russian military occupied six more settlements. “After taking control of the territory of the LPR, the DPR is planned to be liberated. Recently, the settlements of Grigorovka, Berestovoye, Stryapovka, Pokrovskoye, Semigorye and Novoluganskoye have been liberated. The largest in Europe Uglegorsk thermal power plant with a design capacity of 3,600 MW has come under our control,” the minister said.

According to him, over the past month, the Russian military shot down 34 Ukrainian aircraft, intercepted 39 missiles of the Tochka-U complex, as well as 226 shells of multiple launch rocket systems, including foreign-made ones.

In July, the territorial defense headquarters of the republic reported that the Allied Forces of the DPR, LPR and units of Russian troops had liberated 254 settlements in the DPR. The headquarters also clarified that the offensive is going in several directions.

On February 24, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, the purpose of which was the denazification, demilitarization and “liberation” of the LPR and DPR. On July 3, Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin about the liberation of the LPR. Shoigu noted that full control was established over Lisichansk and nearby settlements, the largest of which are Belogorovka, Novodruzhesk, Maloryazantsevo and Belaya Gora.
