The Russian Defense Minister announced a reduction in the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The situation in the special operation zone indicates that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) have fewer and fewer capabilities. About it stated Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu during a conversation with military personnel of units of the Vostok group in the special operation zone.

“Today’s life, today’s situation suggests that the enemy has fewer and fewer opportunities. And there are fewer of them, thanks solely to your combat work,” he emphasized.

Shoigu also handed over “Gold Star” medals to the Heroes of Russia to the commander of the separate 155th Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet, Colonel Mikhail Gudkov and the commander of the separate 810th Marine Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet, Colonel Oleg Vlasov. The military were awarded “for courage, heroism and skillful command of subordinate units” during the repulse of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. During the fighting, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Since the beginning of June, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been conducting active offensive operations. Russian President Vladimir Putin previously called the Ukrainian counteroffensive “not a slippage, but a failure.”

Shoigu also confirmed the words of the head of state about the lack of success in the Ukrainian army. The minister also pointed to the “colossal losses” of the Ukrainian army. During a meeting of the Valdai Forum, Putin said that since the start of the counter-offensive, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 90,000 people.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of hostilities, 511 aircraft, 253 helicopters, more than 8,200 drones, 441 anti-aircraft missile systems, almost 12,900 tanks and other armored combat vehicles and other weapons of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been destroyed.
