The Russian budget received 305 billion rubles. from excess profit tax – Kommersant

Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that the excess profit tax received by the Russian budget, according to the latest data, amounted to 305 billion rubles. This corresponds to the initially stated expectations of the authorities: revenue from the tax was planned in the amount of 300 billion rubles.

“The budget received more than 300 billion rubles, to be precise, 305 billion for this week. By the end of the year, I am sure that more will be added,” Mr. Siluanov said in an interview with the newspaper “News”.

Anton Siluanov emphasized that the deadline for paying the tax has not yet come to an end. Companies can contribute until January 28, 2024. He said that the excess profit tax is a one-time measure, and added that the Ministry of Finance will continue to coordinate its actions in the field of taxes with business.

Excess profit tax applies to large companies. It is accrued if the average profit of the last two years exceeded 1 billion rubles. A tax rate of 10% is calculated on the excess of the company’s profit for 2021–2022 over the 2018–2019 figure.
