The Russian Baltic Fleet is conducting exercises of coastal missile systems “Bal” on the coast of the Gulf of Finland, the press service of the fleet reported.
“As part of the combat training activities of the Baltic Fleet, crews of the Bal coastal missile systems of the Leningrad naval base are taking part in a planned tactical exercise to launch a missile strike on the ships of a mock enemy,” – leads TASS message.
During the exercise, which involved over 50 military personnel and 10 pieces of equipment, the crews of the complexes worked out how to deploy them in different positions.
The Bal coastal missile system was put into service in Russia in 2008. It includes self-propelled command and control posts, launchers with Kh-35E anti-ship missiles, and transport and reloading vehicles. Designed to control territorial waters and coastal infrastructure. The destruction range is up to 110 km, the total ammunition load of the complex is up to 64 missiles.

Earlier today, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported about the start of international anti-terrorism exercises at a military training ground in Primorye with the participation of Russian military formations and the armed forces of Southeast Asian states. The exercises will be held in two stages; military contingents from Vietnam, India, Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines and others will take part in them.
