Saniya FPV drone suppression systems have begun to be used on Russian tanks in the military operation zone in Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

Saniya is an automatic dome system for detecting and suppressing FPV drones. The equipment has a special system built into it that scans the surrounding space and determines the presence of FPV drones. As the developers of the complex note, Sania quickly responds to both groups of unmanned aerial vehicles and single objects.

By data Russian military department, the Saniya complex has already been used in battles in the South Donetsk direction in the DPR. During combat work, tank crews of the 9th motorized rifle brigade of the 1st Army Corps destroyed a stronghold of the Ukrainian military near the village of Pervomaiskoye, the ministry said.

“The mortar men moved along the front line and worked from previously prepared positions. The crew turns around in a matter of minutes, fires 5-6 shots and immediately leaves the place of fire. Target designation and adjustment of mortars were carried out using unmanned aerial vehicles,” the Ministry of Defense added.

“Sania” consists of two devices – a detector and a suppressor. The detector scans the area for the presence of single FPV drones or a whole swarm at a distance of up to 1.5 km. Suppression occurs at a distance of up to 1 km. The complex can operate around the clock. The jammer turns on only when FPV drones are detected and automatically turns off when the detector no longer detects FPV drone signals. “Sania” can be used in stationary or mobile versions. Stationary installation is possible on a tripod or bracket. For mobile use, Saniya is mounted on a vehicle (tank, car or armored personnel carrier) and provides protection against FPV drones while on the move.
