“Russia will send several aircraft to help the affected areas of northeast Libya,” he said.
In particular, teams of rescuers and doctors will go to Libya, and the country will also be given the necessary equipment, blankets, tents, etc. “The practical phase of the operation” will begin on September 15, the diplomat specified. According to Aganin, Libya provides full assistance to Russia in the supply of humanitarian aid.
Flooding occurred in northeastern Libya on September 10. It was caused by Hurricane Daniel. The coastal cities of Derna, Jabal al-Akhdar and others suffered the most. As of September 14, due to the natural disaster died more than 11,000 people, another 20,000 are missing.
