The Ministry of Defense of Romania announced the “impudent” farewell to the Russian Su-35 of the Polish border aircraft
With a delay of a day, the press service of the Romanian Ministry of Defense decided to report the incident 60 kilometers east of Romanian airspace. According to the ministry, a Polish L410 Turbolet aircraft patrolling international airspace over the Black Sea together with the Romanian border police was escorted by a Russian Su-35 fighter on May 5 at 13.20.
According to the Romanian Ministry of Defense, the maneuvers of the Russian military aircraft have led to increased levels of turbulence. This, in turn, seriously complicated the control of the Polish aircraft.
After receiving information about this incident, two aircraft of the Romanian Air Force and two aircraft of the Spanish Air Force, which were on duty, were put on alert. But in the end, the Joint Air Operations Center in Torrejon decided to cancel their takeoff.
The refusal to use additional forces was caused, among other things, by the receipt of information that the Polish pilots were able to level the plane after the initial loss of altitude and at 13.50 make a safe landing at the Mihail Kogalniceanu airport. The Romanian Defense Ministry said there were no casualties in the incident.
