The rarest watch at the personal exhibition of Konstantin Chaikin – Kommersant

The exhibition “Konstantin Chaikin: Watchmaker, Inventor, Artist” is open at the Moscow Museum of Time and Clock. Here is the most complete retrospective of the work of the outstanding Russian watchmaker, member of the International Academy of Independent Watchmakers AHCI and the founder of the manufactory Konstantin Chaykin.

In the museum premises on the third floor of the AllTime flagship jewelry and watch store on Rusakovskaya Street, 1, 25 rare and even unique pieces are exhibited, including the Moscow Paschalia desktop ones, recognized as the most complex in Russia (27 complications, a mechanism of 2506 parts, 4 dials ), complex wrist models “Levitas”, “Carpe Diem”, “Quartime” and “Cinema”, using exotic for us Muslim calendar and the Jewish system of measuring time “Hijra” and “Decalogue”, watches of the Martian cycle and visited space orbit Space conqueror. Of course, the world-famous “ristmons” (from wrist, “wrist” and monster, “monster”) have not been forgotten: 10 different models allow you to appreciate the ingenuity of anthropomorphic dials. Never before have so many mechanical masterpieces invented and made by Konstantin Chaikin been collected in one place. And, given their demand, it is unlikely that they will gather again soon.

The documentary part of the exposition deserves special mention, which includes sketches and working drawings of the watchmaker, as well as magnificent explanatory materials made specially for the exhibition, grouped in chronological order and giving an intelligible idea of ​​the 20-year creative path of the Konstantin Chaykin manufactory.

The exhibition will be open until May 21 (inclusive) daily from 10 am to 9 pm. Entrance, according to the tradition of the Museum of Time and Clocks, is free.
